Mahakaruna Day 2025 Celebrated at India International Centre, New Delhi

Mahakaruna Day Celebrations were observed on 7 January 2025 at the India International Centre, New Delhi, marking the 68th birthday of Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena. The programme brought together spiritual leaders, educationists, and social thinkers from across India to reflect on Mahakaruna (great compassion) as a guiding value for peace and social harmony. Organized jointly by Mahakaruna Foundations, Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre, and other national and international organizations, the event highlighted compassion as a universal force for healing and unity. A key announcement was the establishment of Mahakaruna Vishwa Vidyapeetham (University of Great Compassion) to promote compassion-based education globally.
