
Bhikkhu Sanghasena at Inauguration of Sacred Piprahwa Buddha Relics Exposition
Bhikkhu Sanghasena participated in the inauguration of the Grand International Exposition of the Sacred Piprahwa Buddha Relics, titled “The Light & the Lotus: Relics of the Awakened One,” held at the historic Rai Pithora Cultural Complex, New Delhi. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, marking the return of the sacred Piprahwa relics to India after more than 125 years.
During the ceremony, the Prime Minister offered Holy Robes to Bhikkhu Sanghasena and other revered monks, symbolizing reverence for the Sangha and the living continuity of the Buddha’s teachings across traditions. Monks from Theravada and Vajrayana lineages were present, highlighting spiritual unity.
Bhikkhu Sanghasena paid homage to the sacred relics and reflected on their profound spiritual significance, noting that they serve as living symbols of the Buddha’s message of peace, compassion, and wisdom that transcends all boundaries.
