๐๐๐ฐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ก๐ข, ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ซ ๐๐๐๐: On the occasion of the Closing Ceremony of the 2nd WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine, held today at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, Honโble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi felicitated the recipients of the Prime Ministerโs Awards for Outstanding Contribution to the Promotion and Development of Yoga for the years 2021โ2025.
Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena, Founder President of the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC), Leh, UT Ladakh, was honoured with the ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฆ๐ ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ซโ๐ฌ ๐๐ฐ๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ง๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐จ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ๐จ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐จ๐ ๐๐จ๐ ๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฒ๐๐๐ซ ๐๐๐๐.
The award was conferred by the Honโble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the august presence of Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization; Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers; and Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH and Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare.
The Prime Ministerโs Yoga Award for 2021 recognises the lifelong contributions of Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena, whose work seamlessly blends yoga, meditation, and spiritual wisdom with compassionate humanitarian service. Through the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre, he has played a transformative role in promoting holistic well-being, mental health, and social upliftment in Ladakh and beyond, touching the lives of thousands through education, healthcare, yoga, and meditation initiatives.
During the ceremony, Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena humbly offered a Buddhist prayer mala (beads) to the Honโble Prime Minister as a symbol of blessings, peace, and goodwill.
The recognition at this prestigious global forum underscores Indiaโs leadership in promoting yoga and traditional medicine, and honours individuals whose selfless service has strengthened the global movement for holistic health, inner peace, and harmony.
